The premiere of Batman:The Brave and the Bold is Friday Nov. 14th at 8pm on Cartoon Network. The first episode is titled “Rise of the Blue Beetle” and will feature Batman teaming up with, you guessed it, the Blue Beetle to fight off some space aliens.
While I can’t say for sure, from seeing the Ads and viewing the shows two website’s: Cartoon Network and Kids’ WB, I would say this series will lean more towards a Superfriends style than Batman the Animated Series.

If anyone remembers reading the Brave & the Bold comics from the Sixties or Seventies it will seem familiar. A little lighter than the current state of Comics, the stories ended in one comic and all was well by the end and you didn’t need to worry if they were kid friendly.

Kotobukiya has announced an agreement to produce a series of collectibles based on Christopher Nolan’s second Batman movie, The Dark Knight, which is due in theaters in July. The first Dark Knight product that will be available will be the Batman Dark Knight Bat-Suit Artfx Statue ($99.99). Sculpted by BusujimaX, the 14-inch figure of Batman is posed dramatically throwing back his cape and standing on the destroyed Bat Signal. Like the other Artfx Statues, the Dark Knight figure is a 1/6th scale, pre-painted, snap-together model kit that can be easily assembled in minutes without any glue.
Kotobukiya is creating a second Batman Dark Knight Artfx statue that is connected to this first release by a hidden theme that will quickly be apparent to collectors once they see the film (and the second Dark Knight Artfx Statue). Kotobukiya’s complete line of collectibles based on the Dark Knight movie will be available outside Japan exclusively through DC Direct.

Stan Lee and Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Comics announced at the New York Comic Con that they will collaborate on the creation of a new superhero universe, to be launched in early 2009. Lee will act as both a writer and editor, overseeing the creation of the new characters and universe.
A team of ten superheroes with varied backgrounds and origins will anchor the universe at first. Over time, some of the heroes will be revealed to be other than they seem, with infighting, abuses of power, and internal struggles which will show the characters that the real villains may be within themselves.
Lee will work with artists in the old school Marvel Method, in which the writer and artists collaborate in the creation of the story from the ground up in stages. Most comics are currently produced by an author delivering a finished script to an artist.
The new universe will be launched with a series of ten graphic novels and associated online animated shorts. Virgin plans to use both comic and videogame artists in the collaborations with Lee.

Paramount and Nickelodeon have designated July 2nd, 2010 as the premiere date for The Last Airbender, M. Night Shyamalan’s live action adaptation of Nickelodeon’s animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Paramount has dropped the “Avatar” from the live action picture’s title to avoid confusion with James Cameron’s 3-D science fiction film, Avatar, which is slated to debut in December of 2009.
The animated series, about a young boy who has the ability to manipulate the elements and uses his powers to hold off a ruthless nation bent on domination, has been a huge hit on the popular Nickelodeon network. The animated series has spawned a popular series of Cinemanga volumes from Tokyopop as well as highly successful DVD releases.
According to Variety the creators of The Last Airbender animated series were inspired by the work of Hayao Miyazaki, and Shyamalan told Variety that in The Last Airbender he sees “an opportunity to make a live action Miyazaki film.”
